A friend who is an astronomy teacher at private high school has a grant to buy one of these. He knows about B&W and froogle. I know these are hard to come by. I told him I'd put a line in the water anyway. Any leads?
If not now, when?

Nope. Good try, but I think he'll need to buy new from B&H....

This is one case where B&H and FotoCare have almost identical prices, so given the difference in post purchase customer service, I'm going to recommend he buy from Jeff Hirsch.

Not this particular one. Is there a Sky and Telescope site. That would be most likely. But I think the astronomers would know about that. This camera is really not exactly a camera, it's more a piece of scientific equipment.

Funny thing is that what makes it expsenisve is what it doesn't have: a low pass filter.

    i thought...
i thought it had one but it blocked less infrared than normal ,but still blocked some-eg its not the same as a max-max conversion which replaces the filter with plain optical glass.
