This winter has been good, bad, but between it has been sometimes great. Here are a few of those great moments.
1. First a moonburst high on Mt. Rainier
2. Celebrating good weather
3. Great views of Saint Helens
More images and the story as well: Go here.
4. Gazing out the Muir Shelter
5. Good snow at sunset
6. Powder Dreams Realized
7. Leap into the woods
8. From the clouds into the sun
9. Wind howling
10. Stay warm out there!!!

For sure, as you guessed from the image, a miscalculation can be painful. What mitigates that risk is the guys I ski with; they are brilliant at what they do. This comes at the expense of what many would consider to be a normal life. They often ski over 150 days a year, work the rest of the year to save so that they can ski. With that much dedication, what appears difficult to some of us becomes second nature to those that dedicate their lives to becoming very good at a discipline that makes their soul sing, heart dance and eyes twinkle.
At least that's the poetic way of putting it Fundamentally, as you guessed, we're just terminal adrenaline junkie's .

“There is only you and your camera. The limitations in your photography are in yourself, for what we see is what we are.”
I had the pleasure of skiing in the French Alps, near Mont Blanc and I remember just how difficult taking shots was, so big big props to you.

I publish stories and imagery these days. Pretty much I do what I've always done and I've managed to eek a very simple living out of it. Whether or not that is sustainable is always up in the air, but no matter what I just try to improve, write better stories and continue to get out doing what I love to do. I hope the rest will follow. So far it has, if only by the skin of my teeth much of the time. But anything worth doing comes with risk. God knows I like risk.
