Charles, your shots are not bad, it's an excellent time of the day, and a beautiful place. However, they could have been much nicer with a little more control on the light. Your highlights are off, you should have used a shorter exosure or a smaller aperture. This is particularly true for the second shot. See how the light invades the silouhette of the man on the left? Had you underexosed this shot a bit, you would have saved a lot of detail in the highlights, and obtained a deeper, darker silouhette which would have been IMO nicer. Also, the composition on the first shot could have been better: I would have preferred to have one of the boats in the foreground, to give a more powerful anchor to my eyes in teh first third of the shot.
But you had a good eye, this was a nice opportunity, next time try several exposures!
    Cheers

Thanks for your comments. I will admit to liking the ethereal appearance of the light invding his body. But I'll try your way also.
