Lightroom 4 bug

If you, like me, are rushing to upgrade to LR 4, there is a bug you might want to know about. Apparently, on some but not all installations, if you import your old catalogs, LR 4 will wipe out the tone curve adjustments of your images edited under earlier versions, even if you don't update those images to the new 2012 process. One poster said that he was able to recover them by reopening the images in LR 3, but I have not seen this verified. Adobe has acknowledged the problem:

I like to wait on upgrading for a bit so that most of the bugs have been exterminated and I don't have to call orkin to fix buggy problems....

    Thanx for the heads up.

The curve isn’t really wiped out but you can’t alter it from it’s older settings at this time. Adobe knows about this, it will get fixed. I don’t know this bug is a deal breaker and it will get fixed such that the old curve will (or should) be accessible.

It seems there are a few bugs and problems that Adobe is trying to fix, http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2012/03/lightroom-4-hot-issues.html for once I am actually happy that I couldn't upgrade as both my computers are not supported by the new version ( Macbook 32 bit and Windows XP ), I am happily using Capture One Pro 6 instead and CS5 when I need to do anything tricky.
I am surprised that after releasing the beta version Adobe didn't thoroughly roadtest this software before going for a full release.
