How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Thanks for looking and commenting. I wish I did too, but not as bad a background as in my other swan thread Swan in Squalor! thumb.gif

    cant choose the background,

Certainly have to deal with whatever bg is there, especially if an opportunistic shot - but still have pov/ dof / compositional etc possibilities to modify how the bg is rendered in frame, presumably?

Choosing a suitable bg and waiting for something to happen is another option, of course.

Taking the shot a moment later might have got rid of the stuff behind the swan's neck.

Imo, the 'squalor' scenario had better potential mileage because it offered the possibility of rather different shots from the norm.

After a little BG cleaning in LR4.0.

    A bit better, I think. :D

I should say this is a crop on the 600mm long shot equivalent. (240 @2x and 1.5 factor)

Paul, thanks for the look see and comment. Yes the Squalor one was a very special opportunity. And I was close, not hundreds of feet away. :D
