On my flash 580 cn is always displayed???
I pushed the Cn function to adjust some parameter then pushed the mode button which enable the flash to be ready to shoot but the cn is still on my display.
The flash seem to work just fin.
I read the manual but don t seem to find out why.:scratch:scratch

Any canon flash user know what this means ????

You may wish to just reset the flash. Just turn off the flash, remove the batteries, turn on the flash and wait a couple of minutes.

Turn off the flash again, insert the batteries and turn on the flash.

Don't know about the 580...2 of my SB900's got into some mode and neither me nor my shooting partner could get them out. Tried pushing the two green reset buttons...nope. Finally went through the menu that comes up when you press the center selector button and the very last item has a reset option. This worked...

Just thought that I'd leave that for you so that you could see it there was a menu reset on you Canon flash.

    Good luck.

I believe that the Cn on the LCD just indicates that you've set some Custom Func to a non-default setting.
For example, I have mine set to disable auto-power-off and thus Cn is always indicated.
