Hi,
I was just on the way of moving all my domains to 1und1.de but then I saw that:
http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/93340-setting-up-a-custom-hostname-domain
FYI: We don't support domains from 1and1. :huh
äh is that true... If yes, I would think one more time about my decision ...:rolleyes
Could you confirm that this issue still exists? Is this TLDs only or is this also a restriction for subdomains?
I want to point point the CNAME of a subdomain like pics.mydomain.com from 1und1.de to domains.smugmug.com. Would that work?

I just switched my domain to 1und1.de pointed a subdomain to domains.smugmug.com and .... it works... not sure if it works for everybody out there or if there are issues ahead, but I just wanted to let you know...

I think the issue is if you want to point your top level domain at smugmug, but keep your email working. 1&1 doesn't seem to allow CNAME (which SMUG requires) along with a seperatley maintained MX Record. Hence, if you have email at your domain...it'll break.
someone correct or update if they have information regarding.
