Photo site advice for non-profit

I don't know where to put this question...it's not appropriate for
"Other Cool Shots", but I don't know where it would be appropriate
and get attention.

My daughter - an avid amateur photographer - works for a non-
profit that provides day care for the severely disabled. She
wheedled the center into allowing her to solicit donations to
to purchase 8 digital point-and-shoots. On field trips, the
clients take photographs and receive some basic pointers
on composition. Some of the photos have been surprisingly
good.

My daughter would like to be able to post these photos
on a site where the parents could view them. A one-time
site like JAlbum would work, but links to the site would
have to be provided each time a site is added.

She'd like to be able to give the parents a permanent
link - like we have for our SmugMug page - and add
galleries as we do with SmugMug.

However, there's no budget. The solution has to be
free.

I don't blog, and don't really know how that works,
but I understand there are ways to do this at no
charge. Would that work?

Any suggestions - and feel free to email me or
send a private message - would be appreciated.

This may or may not work quite like you have in mind, but you should be able to do something to this effect with Picasa and Google+. I know Google+ is a "social network", but using that service to upload photo's, (it uses the Picasa service), you get unlimited storage. If you upload directly with Picasa, you do have a space limit. So you could upload to Google+, and just not "share" the album or pictures with the public, and only share the link to the album with the people you want. They should be able to view it without needing to sign up for anything. Worth looking into I think. The linking part though, may still work the same as Jalbum that you mentioned, so might not be the ideal method.

There are probably some other options out there, and hopefully someone will get back to you and let you know.

Non-profits are either able to solicit donations to give others a tax break or not. Do not be fooled into thinking non-profits do not have money to spare for a worth while project.

I'd suggest having the non-profit opening up a Pro SmugMug account and set some real modest prices that many photographers cringe at. You might be surprised at how easy it will be to sell photos and to possibly turn a profit above the Pro SmugMug yearly fee.

On the other hand, the less sites that there are that offer free photos or close to nothing profit on photos on SmugMug might be better to raise the bar on SmugMug regarding what photography should be valued at. Nothing worse than someone seeing my prices, searching on SmugMug to find similar shots at lower prices and asking me to price match them.

As for other sites, you should check out SnapFish. A site I got hoodwinked into trying and isn't all that bad. I only wish it would prevent others from downloading my images or purchasing of digital images (or prints) that I won't see a dime from... then maybe I could direct them to my SmugMug account.

That's an interesting suggestion. My daughter's employer is in another
town (Jacksonville Beach, and I'm in Orlando), so I'll talk to the Director when
    I'm up there next time.

The organization http://www.thearc.org/ is national, but this would be
just for the Jax Beach location.
