I really like this shot. You have very nice light with the foreboding sky and sliver of sunset color. Love the contrast of black sand and white water. The water motion looks cool too. Even though the composition is a 50/50 split it doesn't bother me. Nice job all around.

Photography rules are meant to be broken under certain conditions. I think this image qualifies.

Of course it might have looked really cool if you had gotten down low to the moving water and really accentuated the flow. But then you would have gotten even wetter.

I agree with Derek, Skippy. You have a very nice balanced shot here. Great colors and water motion, terrific exposure. The white foam contrasts nicely against the black sand. The horizon is just a little tilted. That's the first thing I always check in the raw converter because it's so easy. But otherwise, this shot rocks! clap.gif

Oh, and thanks for thinking of me. :D

    Cheers,

Nice one, Skippy! I agree with everything Derek and Joel said--including the centered horizon. I think it works well here.

Nice! The horizon is slightly tilted to the left. The centered horizon doesn't bother me, but a crop of the sky would get rid of the most noticeable spots. Beautiful shot though.

Beautiful image. I love the shutter speed, there is a lot of symmetry between the clouds and the water
