Sky before Sunset

This is my first attempt at shooting different skies and sunsets. I would appreciate your C&C around lightening, composition or post processing. I am not familiar with PP - only have Elements 10 and really don't know what I'm doing. I'll post a second thread with the actual sunset shots. Thanks in advance.

    I think I agree. It's the closest to being a reasonable comp. #2 has some bad halo'ing in the trees, probably a processing artifact. There's very little color in the skies in any of these, and yet the compositions are almost all sky. Sky shots are almost always boring unless they're of an incredible sky, which these aren't.

    I'd say you need to concentrate on incorporating more interesting elements in your shots, and better light. Photography is all about timing. You need to find the right combination of elements at the right times. It's harder than it looks.
