Yep, very nice set. Still, I think for presentation purposes you should have kept them all in B&W. Doesn't stop you from having a guilty pleasure set in colour on your machine or in your galleries. It's just a little jarring as is.

Good point. Since the light was kind of nice, I enjoyed the warmer tones of color and wanted to include those for thoughts.
The color does look nice. But I agree that mixing color and B&W usually doesn't work well. I suspect the #4 would also look good in B&W. Very nice work .
Consider this as a possibility. Make a three shot series in this order - 2/1/5, but reverse/flip #5 so she's running out to the right instead of the left.
You'll get the young girl bottom half setting up the series, the 'splash' and then the exit to the right all moving the same direction.
Are you changing what reality was? Sure. But for what I think would be a nice series it might work.
And I too learned something new about mixing color and B&W today.
Fun stuff, Quincy. If Dgrin rules permitted I'd add a couple from the fountain in Colorado Springs named "Uncle Wilbur." Kids in fountains are always great subjects.
One, two, and three for me, Quincy. I love the color in the color one, but for it to work for me I need to see something of the face of the girl who's turned toward us - is this a joyful scene, or not? Need an expression. But love the color, and very much like the first three images. Nice work.
Thank you everyone. I will complete the conversion on the color image tonight, and repost that. I would also like to try M3's idea, so thank you for that, bud.
I like #1 the best with the composition and exposure being right on. It is such a dynamic shot. #5 us a close second, but what is implied is not as strong as what is seen in the first.
Agree that #1 is best, with the action, the light and the comp. Somehow #5 adds a lot of mystery and is growing on me. Mystery is sometimes good. If I had these in a gallery of mine, I would include the 5th for that reason alone.

My favorite of the set being the last one, I'm just really drawn to it.
Good lesson for me too, not to mix b&w w/ color.

And here's the series that M3 suggested. I'd like to know how to put these together in a nice collage in PS...time to figure that out.
More thoughts?
