Love the distortions, Liz. And #3 is a classic. The expression on that face so goes with the shoe.

I like the circular view Liz. Great set, especially #3.

You know you've stumbled on to something good when opinions
are sharply divided. That means you've brought them into the
image and they've thought about it.

I just can't believe these OWS things are still going on. Our local one dried up months ago...

And I still like the "peep-hole" series! thumb.gif

Looks like you are embracing your new "toy". I am enjoying the shots.

BTW, one advantage of shooting this wide is that you can get closer (than you are) and place the subject off-center. It will look like you are shooting someone/thing else and allow you to include them (likely as the main subject).

I can't help you there Ben.
Maybe you will get used to it? :)
It's a new cheap toy, so I'll be using it some more, and I like your comments, so work on getting over it.

The mood was not a good one there two days ago. So many looked like this, but I was glad to have captured his expression.

Good point Tony, thanks. Though I'm attempting to bring over to my side.

The Zucotti park protest/campout was effectively squashed.
This was a new movement at Union Square, or a new location for the movement anyway.
This was their second day after a rough night with the cops coming in and removing them. I'm not sure if they came back the following morning (when I took this) and I don't know if they remain there today. There has been bigger news out there latey, and they are not getting much attention right now.

    Hey Rainbow--
I can't believe just how close you can get--I thought I was close with this second batch but still I notice that i was not close enough! I will keep playing with it. I have some old film that I've had stashed forever and the camera was $40 bucks! beats the hell out of wideangles for my DSLR, though obviously the quality is lacking, but I still like it, must learn how to get closer. I felt I was close enough to touch them, but I will keep getting closer, just shy of "punch" range :)

Fun shots for sure. #3 is my favorite of the lot. For me, the thing about fisheye shots is that--like a lot of HDR stuff I see--the look overpowers the subject. What I mean, is that when I look at these the immediate impression is not political protest; it's fisheye. I think it probably takes a lot of practice to grasp when to use it, and how.

Me thinks, Liz, that you need to get in "punch range" here... mwink.gif
