Or maybe Merlin. Got 3 Pocket wizard flexTT5s today. The plan is having a camera and flash triggered off of my handheld camera to get some starting line action at an arena cross event. Then I might try switching channels and running a remote flash to give some more light to a corner or maybe under a jump. Gonna play with it to see what I can get. I was really looking at the new plus 3. But it just doesn't seem to do as much as the TT5. TTL can be a really good thing and I do use it a lot with the nikon CLS system. I might still pick up a few Plus 3s just to use a remote trigger for cameras. It seems to have some advantages in this area. Especially being able to focus. I guess this could be good, or bad. The nikon auto area focus is pretty good for the most part. But sometimes it will lock onto random stuff. I think I would have one around my neck and one on my remote camera.

PW sure doesn't give stuff away. The pre-release cable I needed to wake up and trigger a camera was over $100. I was not expecting that for some reason. I was guessing $25?? Wrong!!

    It turns out Gandolf can be a bitch too. The setup for this isn't as easy as it looks in the PW video.

    Not only is Gandolf a bitch. He flat out refused to work today. I guess it isn't just plug and play. I have some learning to do.

    Some thing is wrong. All PW required hard reset to even talk to flashes after my remote camera adventure. Going to have to talk to tech support on this one.
