Camera Awesome/Video Rotating Bug

For some reason, and I hope this is just me not knowing how to use the app, any video that I take in portrait mode (does anyone record videos in a non-portrait mode?:)) shows up incorrectly, rotated 90 degrees in the wrong direction, and there is no way to rotate it in the app or after uploading to smugmug. Please tell me I just didnt see it and I hope the answer isn't "no you have to first upload it to your PC, manually rotate it, and then manually upload it to smugmug".

Note that I am not doing anything extra, I am just holding the phone in portrait mode while recording the video.

Do you have rotation lock locked on the device?

    Hello,

We've been able to record both landscape and portrait videos without issues.

Please let us know how the phone was held. Was the phone pointed down or at some odd angle or upside down? Also, please provide us with a link to the video.

Email us at the Smugmug help desk as we can provide faster support regarding this issue.

I'm sorry I actually mistyped in my original message. I was holding the phone on landscape mode, I was outside, the rotation lock was on. I recorded it and the video got recorded properly, yet when I upload to smugmug, it shows up in portrait mode. I will post a sample video, should I just upload it to youtube or is there an e-mail address I should send it to?

Unlocking the rotation fixed the problem, still though, this is not a problem with iphone's own video recording, not sure why locking the rotation creates a problem.

@DerStig yea I agree, we're looking into how to work around the rotation lock issue, probably try to use the accelerometer data instead of the deviceOrientation.

    Camera Awesome/Uploading Issues
I am having this problem whereby if I select bunch of pictures/videos (happens all the time if there is a video in selection) and after upload starts I quit the app (I have 4S), the upload doesn't run in the background. When I switch back to the app, and go to the file selection menu, there is no progress. If I resubmit my upload request, nothing happens. The only way to make it work is to kill the app completely and restart again.
