Soccer team portrait, Indoors with Canon 5D3

Just finished a shoot with this sharp looking team out of Anchorage, AK.

Elinchrom Rotalux 69" key, two Speedlites for flare/rim. Canon 5D3 & 16-35L II. Converted in DPP with some Photoshop CS5 awesomesauce.

Yeah the 16-35 is not the best when it comes to distortion of the wide end. Looking at adding the 14L or the 17mm TS-E to the kit.

Yeah, the distortion is a problem for me too. Why are you using such wide lenses instead of just backing up some?

+1 here - I'm not sure what the two outside players think of this photo, even with the awesomesauce. ;-)

Can't you use some of that CS5 sauce to minimize the distortion?

The wide angle was my vision for the shot. Maybe I see things at 16mm? Less distortion would be nice but it's one of those things where I am willing to compromise technicalities for a more interesting angle and look.

I'm wondering if you could use some perspective correction on the portrait to fix the edges some? Otherwise, great shot and I love the post processing!
