How can I update Lightroom's catalog, if the original catalog is gone?

I was troubleshooting an issue with Lightroom 3. I ended up with a errors in my Lightroom catalog. I created a new catalog to eliminate one problem. Then I realized SmugMug was not showing any of my older galleries. It had the new ones but not some of the older ones.

How to I update Lightroom to show all the same galleries that are on SmugMug? I deleted my original Lightroom Catalog.

Thank you.

You did not keep a back up copy of your Lightroom catalogs?

Backing Up an error does not correct the error.

Yes I do back up. All that is irrelevant if the backed up copy has errors.

I need a way to make Lightroom match what is published to Smugmug. This of it as syncing a folder in Lightroom when another application makes a change to the files.

Have you tried syncronizing your publishing plugin to SmugMug. That should grab all the galleries. It will not download the pictures but rather try to match them up with existing ones in the catalogs.
