Not sure abouit these shots. Somewhat have an interesting feel to them. Not tack sharp...or great BIF. Nothing like my "usual" shots. I borrowed my folks camera while visiting. Was out back in their yard and the kids were feeding the birds. Had some of them beach rats flying around annoyingly overhead. Took the P's el cheapo' P&S (under $150) and thought...this should be interesting. So I fired away with their "toy". (just kidding..in some respects..as ALL cameras are cool IMO). I wasn't expecting much from the P&S...especially given the shootin conditions. I was a bit surprised with the results. Thought I'd share some of them with you all.

There was a good bit of shutter lag compared to the "usual" DSLR I use.

Reach of the lens was also very limited....as the "zoom" was only 3x IIRC

Had some difficulty stopping action with the slow lens and shutter speed. Could have improved it a bit shooting in manual..but was just flyin' auto pilot this day.

I really like them, Birdman! They have a bit of noise, I think, but the colors are delightful, I think.

And the photography makes the picture! The photographer not the camera. And these are examples of that.

(not that I agree completely that some new more expensive equipment wouldn't make me a better photographer.)

Thanks Ginger, Jeff & Ric. I'm not printing any of these up...but they did strike me as interesting. P&S digis are great for some things...but BIF probably are not their strong point.

Sorry, jeff......forgot to answer your ????. Wilma didn't hit us too bad here, but did some major damage in other areas. Really trashed the South counties and the East coast. Many still suffering the effects. Wasn't pretty. Hope all are doing well and wish them a speady recovery. Had a Great Aunt that lost all her trees and was out of power for 10 days. Things could have been much worse. No complaints here. Just lost a 35' palm tree and had some water in the kitchen/living room floor. It's terrazzo...so no big deal. Thanks for asking.

Ok..one more from the A70. This one at night ..with the little built in flash. This NH sat next to our table and was begging for food worse than any dog I've had. That's some nasty red eye.
