Whites and Kites

Hello All,
I finally was able to duck out and shoot for a bit today. Despite the intermitant showers I was able to get some quality relaxation time in.
I stopped by one of my favorite bird places and saw bunches of white pelicans. They were flying around and cruising real close to the shore.
Later I saw a Kite flying around but out of range. After about 15 minutes of teasing me he turned my way
I sure did need that time off.....lol
Thanks for looking,
Steve

Of course I'm so envious of your shots!!!
So they're still there huh? We see less and less brown ones in our area, but the Soo group went to Santa Cruz Natural Bridges a couple of weeks ago and found a bunch of them.
Excellent shots! Thanks for sharing them!

Well to tell the truth, I really was looking for hawks I stopped by the Baylands and saw a Harrier, but he was just too far away. After talking to another photog for about 20 more minutes I gave up and went to a place where I hoped to find some pelicans. Sure enough, they were there in the hundreds and swimming in the close in pools Birds + close in = ...lol
The Kite was an added bonus.
Thanks for your comments

Like I said, it was good to be shooting again :
Steve
They are very pretty birds. I'd love to catch them diving for fish one of these days.
Steve
Yep, the flock was definitely "in" at San Antonio Rd. Hundreds of them and as I wrote, some were fairly close to shore too(or the trails).
Thanks for your comments and hope you find some browns or whites to shoot,
Steve

I could have come home with nothing and been satisfied just to be out shooting once again.....lol
Steve
Well, ya shoot what you got. Gus has lorikeets, you've got honkers, we've got pelicans here and Harry has all the rest of the birds in the known world to shoot in Fla.....
Thanks for taking the time to comment,
Steve
I've been admiring yours too
Steve
Dan Margulis spent a little time on feather detail on white birds during his advanced color theory class which I took last week. You seem to have done a really good job here. Where these Canon or Nikon? Shot raw? Converted how?
but they made me give it back.
