This month I've had a 5D3, D800 and D800e on order to replace my aging 40D. Oddly enough, I ended up pulling the trigger on a 5D2 and a sigma 70-200 2.8. I have AF envy, but am very happy with the decision.

Finally having useful 1600ISO is fantastic. And 2.8 @ 200 is also fantastic (my other tele zoom is 70-300DO IS), particularly on days like this (heavy cloud cover).

Anyway, C/C welcome.

Great series. The 2nd is my favorite.

Gorgeous shots. The ony where the tiger is looking up is my favorite. It's hard to get shots in a zoo that don't look like they are in a zoo. Good job!

My fav too. I love his pose in the one above (his mom was coming around a corner, he pounced just afterwards), but it's otherwise just a stock zoo shot.

You did great, Marc! You can see every whisker/hair on the first fellow, and that second photo would melt anyone's heart. Best, Pam

Thanks Pam! Appreciate the kind words. I haven't shot much beyond my son for the past 9 months (he's... just about 9 months old). Glad to get out there, even if it's artificial (zoo).

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Good job. My favorite is the tiger looking up towards us, love his face.
