Oropendola Nests
Hi folks. I'm not a birder, however, if someone left one of those beautiful lenses that you all use so well on my doorstep I'd sure love to give it a try.
I just got back from another trip to Belize and each time I go I seem to have some avian related fun. Last trip it was a greenie waiting out a day of 25mph+ winds
and a pair of boat billed herons
This trip it was Oropendolas and their hanging, woven nests. Beautiful birds, related to crows, with bright yellow tails. Apparently they get their name from their odd behavior of swinging around on tree branches like a gymnast. They seem to hold on with their feet and drop forward off the branch, swinging in a circle and ending up back on the same perch. The first time is saw it I said, "What the heck did that bird just do?". Wish I could've gotten in a little closer.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
