Spent some time in the garden with the 100mm and a full set of tubes, not close to max mag, most images were spoiled by the harsh afternoon sunlight, but I am pleased to have a couple of almost sharp shots. Are tubes used at max magnification? I lose the subject, but improvised a zooming in technique, which is ok if the subject has not flown off. Or do you get used to knowing the distance from the subject that will allow, with minimum adjustment a sharp image? Only seem to be allowed one image to upload, thought I had them sized OK, but not. CC welcome.

A good start, strong sunliggt is difficult to shoot in! When I use 100 mm always use all tubes and use zoom ring with finger to keep focus on subject as I move closer to fill frame . Must admit never shot with natural light & tubes , always flash to give sharp images!
