Velocity Micro - experiences?

Anyone here ever buy a machine from this company? I see them more and more in PC World, and comments are generally favorable at Reseller Ratings. I like the fact that Velocity actually follows up each unfavorable comment at RR.

Any experiences with them would be helpful.

Actually, any experiences with any "build-your-own / customize" computer company (other than Dell or Gateway - yuck!) would be helpful.

Thanks in advance!

    Hey there Mr. 10K!

    No... Macs were popular in the 20th century, weren't they?

    IMHO You should be instantly suspecious of anything that you see being sold in any quantity PC World. Beyond that I can't comment.

    Sorry, I could only comment on Dell, I've never seen any incentive to use anyone else.

    There are some other things that set my alarm bells ringing:

    ->A default machine build for SOHO uses liquid cooling??? WTF?!?
    -> T_Shirt - I would prefer a cheaper computer thank you?
    -> Origami-style folded drive cables??? I'd prefer to have wires that aren't snapped thank you
    -> .. testing for 'complete component and software functionality'
    (I'd like to see that stand up in court, if the software developers could do this we'd be very happy, but it takes more than the number of atoms in the universe to encode the state)

    I smell male cow's exrecement in rather larger quantities than I would prefer to, I can see why they get on well with PC World.

    Just my opinion,

    Oh yes, and I'd really like to know why the top of the range SOHO machine doesn't have on-site warranty?

    Hmm......

    Barge poles...
