Spent the holiday weekend touring the surprisingly nice downtown of Greenville, SC, which offered me a few chances to think about the challenge. Any of these jump out at you?

Thanks.

I like the last one and #2. As for 5, I don't think Whiskey was called Moonshine until Prohibition in the 20s.

I like the last one as well, really looks like it's from another era.

Improved? Yes. I really like the lettering, which is so prevalent in old photos.

Nice work as usual, Greg. With all the support for your entry (among your options) I want to cast a vote of appreciation for the first one. You've captured a fascinating balance between the busy, complex, roots of the tree and the open simplicity of the road. The blur/tilt-shift effect works here too, as if the imagined 1921 camera had some serious glass issues.

Your current entry is outstanding, too. The use of suggested place/time and perfect scipt face made all the difference to me, as it didn't initally stand out to me. Great lesson on the impact of providing context (even imaginary).
