Afternoon folks,

Ive been working on my site for a month or so now, just as and when I can. However, ive added a slideshow to the home page which works fine when Im logged in. Starts itself, cycles through etc etc. However, once im logged out, or anytime somone visits the site the slideshow wont start, its just a black box.

SS settings:

Click to image: No
Captions: No
Thumbnails: Yes
Auto Start: Yes
Speed: Medium
Show Speed: No
Page Style: Black
Random Start: No
Randomize: Yes

Any ideas?

Cheers

- Nathan

The trouble seems to have to do with the fact that you have both a site-wide viewing password in place, and a custom domain. There is currently an issue that prevents the slideshow from working properly on sites that use both a custom domain and use a site-wide password. If you access your site as a visitor from hobdayphotography.smugmug.com, enter your password, and go to your homepage, the slideshow should work normally; it's only when you access the site via the custom domain where you see this issue. We've filed a bug for this issue, and we're having our engineers take a look and see if this can be resolved. Our apologies for the trouble!

Is the site-wide password in place just for now, until you get your site ready? If so, you should see this problem go away if you remove the site-wide password.

Also, your slideshow is set to pull photos based on keyword "ships". At the moment, all the photos in your site with that keyword are in galleries where you've manually set the Hello Smuggers gallery setting to No. This setting would need to be set to "Use the site-wide setting" (which is currently set to yes) in order for keywords to work on your site, including keywords as the source for a gallery slideshow. This setting can be altered for each gallery on your site by going to the gallery in question and clicking Tools > Gallery Settings.

Is there no way I can get my nav bar at the top to stay there? When ever Im viewing a gallery I need to go back to the home page and start again to access another gallery as all my links disappear...

    Cheers, again D:

    Nathan,

Check the gallery settings of a gallery where you don't see the navbar. It's likely that you have set 'hide owner' to yes. Hide owner makes the gallery appear as a generic SmugMug gallery with no customizations and no links back to your site. If you don't want that, disable hide owner.
