Seriously, awesome expression and perspective and I love the post-work.

I've gotten used to them of course and it probably accounts for some of my hearing loss over the years, but I imagine to fresh ears that are not used to the sound of screetching trains, it's pretty terrifying.

    Thanks for commenting.

You know I didn't even consider it in b&w and you know I rarely post color, but this just begged for color. Now you have me thinking though. Maybe I will try it in black and white, though I'm doubtful.

Thanks for the comment, I feel like I was towering over her and not doing much protecting in this shot. Poor kid.

    Thanks Damon,
Extreme noises do that to her. She's always cool as a cucumber unless she hears loud noise or sees a dog, then it's every man for themselves and you can hear her scream for blocks.

We lived in NYC until I was 6. I VIVIDLY remember how frightened I was by the express trains and would leeeaaannn into my mom while putting my hands over my ears, with my heart racing and tears never far away.

Scroll forward 25 years, when I went back to NY for the first time since a child. In the subway and it was an almost Pavlovian response as the express train roared by - hands straight to my head, heart pounding....

All that to say... Yup = that image does a great job evoking the scene!!! thumb.gifrolleyes1.gif

Divamum, I'm convinced it's one of the reasons I'm losing my hearing. So I do i compensate for the screetching stop of a train or one that roars by, I blast my ipod:) lol.

It doesn't get easier, if I don't have my ipod on me, i usually cover my ears, it hurts!

Funny how w/ the title, you so get what this means :)

    So do I!
What's not to like about those shoes, though now I covet the turquoise laces too.
