First LAX in a couple of years yesterday. Bitter cold. The temp had to be in the twenty's with wind and snow flakes. I didn't stick around for the Varsity.:huh

C&C always welcome. All shot with the D700 FX, 300 f4 @ 1/500, ISO 400, AutoWB.

#2 rocks! Great capture of the emotion of the game. thumb.gif #5 is good as well but could do with some cropping to lose some space off the bottom. The others for me are okay but I can't connect with them as I can't really see faces. Getting faces in sports shots is one of the first things I learned here. 9 times out of 10 it makes for a better shot.

    Great colours John,
I'm no expert on LAX but that looks like one hell of a bumpy pitch to run on eek7.gif

I guess he didn't know he'd lost the ball in #3:D. Kind regards Graham.
    Graham.

    C&C most welcome

I like the work--espcially the ghost check in #3. I find JV can be much tougher to photograph, because the kids do some very unpredictable things and get in to "classic" positions less often.
    Regards

Thanks Graham. I haven't seen the field before and it is very un-even. The school just finished a major expansion including their athletic facilities and this may be the old track & field venue.
I think the kid ran at least another 5 yards before he realized he didn't have the ball.....1rolleyes1.gif

Thanks Will. Yeah, they did some unpredictable things like passing the ball to the other team...ne_nau.gif

Thanks Mike. I really do make every effort to capture faces, but sometimes the player turns or looks away at the last second and with LAX you see a lot of the action with everyone looking at the ground...read "ball". ne_nau.gif
