This 4.5 foot rattler came to visit this evening. The fire dept. removed him for me, but not before I got 244 captures :rofl

Nice capture Dan. However you could have handled that little tyke w/o the FD. Just looking at its eyes one can tell that it has a friendly disposition.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Love your use of dof and the motion blur of his tongue. Makes a really great image.

Eeeks! I've had to many close encounters with these things. Spring is so pretty in the desert but it also means these things come out. At least he wasn't coiled.

Dan: Great photo. Dan and Harry: You all are crazy! Think how sad we would all be if this post had been from Dan's family, saying, "At least our beloved Dan's next to last act was getting this great photo of a rattlesnake." (Just kidding), Pam

Nice one Dan, you are brave. For me I don't care for snakes and would run... OK maybe not.
