Believe it or not, this is the first Butterfly shot I've ever managed. They never stay still long enough and I've never really been to a place where they're plentiful. Not the best composition but the only shot I got before it flitted off.


Spotted this Shield Bug in the privet. Almost missed it entirely.

what i often try to do , is to blur the back-ground with some sort of brush

Thanks Bas. More often than not my BG is blurred naturally as a result of shallow DoF. It's a little deeper for the butterfly as it was further away than I'd wanted it to. ;-)
