So I shot in the rain a few weeks ago. Mixed results, light was flat and contrast low

I saw a post where the photog used IR to cut thru fog in B&W. I didn't think the image was good but the equipment delivered, sharper resolution with higher contrast, than color converted.

I tried it at a concert. I had to shoot stopped down to f5 to f8 to reduce the highlights in a pretty dim setting (w spot lights). Damn cam pulled too much light

Next experiment, shoot surfing in fog... which happens pretty frequently round here.
