Well my first real day out with DSLR and I got a lotta good images.
Had to stop by the store and get a pound or so of peanuts for my Models. :D

Give these Guys some peanuts and they will do about anything! :rofl

While my pics aren't as good as many here I thought they came out pretty good for a overcast day and a cheap lens:scratch

Can't ask for a better model.......

....those ears and eyes are ever vigilant and that sniffer don't miss anything....

SquirrelOP4Web-vi.jpg?800540

....shake the bag and make a few noises and they pop out from everywhere...

....after all it don't hurt to bribe your models for a few seconds of still shots!:dunno :D

Hey, I use the 828, no one accused me of soft focus pictures!!! It is less forgiving than the 707, 717 cams though. You do have to pay attention to what you're doing and be sure to hold the camera steady. And when that shaky hand image comes on, you'd better be sure you're holding the camera well, or throw it on the tripod...

Just kidding you -- your dSLR pics are somehow much better!

BTW, I love the picture captioned "shake the bag"

We have squirrels (ground squirrels) in two areas, but we don't have those pretty leaves -- dirt or dirt and rocks...

I see lots of peanut shells despite the signs "please don't feed the squirrels"

    Thanx Dee for the compliment!thumb.gif

As for the 828......got "fuzzy" pics no matter what I did.
Just don't think something is quite right with it?

The 10D is much heavier and most of my pics I take are hand held....go figure.ne_nau.gif

Nice set of images you have taken here. I love to shoot these guys, and one thing that I found out is that when using a flash they always show up with red eye.Again nice series.

GraphyFotoz made comment in one of his first DSLR post about no more OOF pics for him. It caught my eye. I have an F828 and I have terrible problems with OOF. I've tried everything - tripod no tripod. I've been sucessful with close shots and macros, but anything with a distant view - Blaaaaaah. I'm very new to all this, so I really don't know if it's a 1 D 10 T error or not. I'm also have tremendous noise problems even at 200 ISO. I'll post some examples when I get home tonight and maybe a fellow Dgrinner can help me out.

I'd love to get some Racoon shots! Being nocturnal chances are slim at best. :cry
Porcupine would be kewl or a Opossum.....skunk....well we will leave him out! rolleyes1.gif
I personally like Red Squirrels and Chipmunks the best. Rarely see either one myself. Red Fox would be a gem to capture but they are very Leary and seldom seen.

Lotsa things I wanna capture.....now just to get lucky!rolleyes1.gif
