April 12th northern lights

having checked out this site

the northern lights were predicted to be good wednesday and thursday nights. wednesday was clouded over but thursday was clear, i took my camera gear to work with me for my night shift, later during a coffee break i stepped outside and seen the aurora was out so that was my excuse to leave work early, took some back roads to get away from the city lights and grabbed these
also happened to get Venus in some of the shots

Also, the sky in the 3rd one is great. Again though, I might like to see _just_ a bit of detail in the foreground... just enough to keep it from being a black blob.

best i could do with #1, my pp skills aren't the grandest lol
#3 i couldn't do anything with at all, foreground was too far away and couldn't bring it up
i caught these a month ago on a very cold windy night with clouds blowing in and out which added some mood, also a nearly full moon was out which ruined the black stary sky but helped light up the foreground
