Marc and I climbed up here the hard way. David took the sensible but more circuitous route

Great photo; but I'm curious to know what that sensible and more circuitous route was, exactly

Marc and I hiked straight up a ridge to get to this point… the first 100 yards was loose dirt and probably a 30% grade. It took a little doing to not topple backward or slide. David and Dave took a route that was more like a 1-1.5 KM walk and flatter… you can actually see the trail in the picture, near the base of the peak.
The "short" way was like a 500m walk and gained 500 feet or so. David actually has a shot of Marc walking up it. The longer route was 3x as far but was a normal trail, not a crazy man's shortcut
et voila
