Great shots. No criticism fro m me. :-)

What creek was this? Living in Arizona I know how limited our running water opportunities are.

#4 is my favorite composition by a large margin. It's the one that maintains my interest the most, and I follow the water down the waterfall into the foreground.

It's also the one I like the color balance on the most :D The first 3 feel a bit "cold": did you white balance on the water? It feels like you shot in shade and have a white balance 1000K or so too cold.

Only thing that bugs me a bit is the grass in the lower left corner. It's distracting; I might clone it out and perhaps add the slightest vignette to the corners just to keep the eye in the frame a bit.

Thanks for the critique, CatOne. All of these except the fourth were shot after sunset or before sunrise and were bluish. On the first two, I liked the blue and pushed things in that direction. On the last two, I tried (at least) to get a natural-looking white balance.

I'll give some thought to the grass and the vignette.

Don- very nice series- especially since running water is not that prevalent in AZ. Are all of these from the same creek? I know exactly where #4 is and someone took some time to clean up the debris that is usually piled up there at the bottom. clap.gif

There are a couple other nice falls on that creek a couple miles up the road and down a short trail. deal.gif

Aaron, thanks for the comments. These were all taken on the same creek. I scouted for falls in the afternoon and went back at sunset and again at dawn to photograph them.

I like the first an last ones the most. #2 looks like it could benefit from a lower perspective, although I'm digging the swirls in the whirlpool which might be why you shot it that way. Good stuff, Cornflake. thumb.gif

Thanks, kdog. One difficulty I've encountered when shooting creeks is that there are limited points of view to choose from, because of the terrain, obstructions and the desire not to get soaked. :D

I like #1 but #4 does it for me , beautiful tones and light in that one.

deb22, thanks very much. I think the fourth one is the best.

I also like #4 the best, #3 is also very good but bluish overcast is somewhat too strong in my opinion. If it had a little bit more room at the top and some cropping at the bottom might improve it. Still, great photos. That " S " shape in #2 is interesting.
