Hi everybody,

a couple of weeks ago I went picking chestnuts, but I ended up taking photos. It was just too beautiful to stare at the ground all the time. :):

And finally, what I came for:

They were delicious roasted! :clap

    Fall Colours
Ana these are lovely - and some of the images in your galleries are quite stunning. The fall colours and mist gallery is great (and I like the donkey too). Did you get any shots of the Lipizzaner horses in Vienna by any chance?

I really like that last one. Awesome composition. It looks like you had a great day for walking in the woods :)

Thanks! Always good to know there are other people who enjoy looking at my photos, apart from me! :D

No, I didn't take any shots of horses in Vienna, but did you know that, incidentally, the Lipizzaner horses originate in Slovenia (and not in Vienna as many people mistakenly think)? They have been and still are bred in a small village of Lipizza (or Lipica) in southwestern Slovenia, which is also where they got their name from. I haven't been there yet, but when I do, I certainly plan to take many photos!

Haha, Ric, thanks for your concern! :D

You see, this is one of the biggest advantages of small digicams with a swivel LCD: no lying on the ground, no getting your clothes dirty, no scraping your knees... all I had to do was kneel, turn the LCD and take the picture. :): Neat, huh? Admittedly, I am dying to get a DSLR, and hopefully I'll get one soon, but there will always be shots that are so much easier to take with a humble compact camera.

Thanks! That day was indeed great, and I did end up getting lots of chestnuts too.

    Your wecome! :D

Before my 20D, I had Sony's 828, 707, and 505v.....so I know exactly how convenient the swivel is. There is always a trade off no matter what you decide you want to shoot with. :cry
