Welcome to what was once, and may still be, the hen party capital of the western world.

I wouldn't know about such things....

All those colors and the reflection make that image work. That far left harbor wall is not doing anything for me though.

Man, this shot really pops. :wow It's just a symphony of colors and things to look at. Unlike my esteemed colleague, I feel like the harbor wall adds to the composition. Purely a subject call, of course. :D

Thank you, both. The shot pops because the place really is like that (colourful). If you get the right light there it brings out the colours in the buildings and the boats. I did have to boost the reflection a little in Photoshop. I didn't have a lot of time to shoot it because the tide in this area is one of the fastest in the world, and it was already starting to come over my boots!:D

Here's a wider view of the whole harbour, so you can see the layout. I was standing by those pier steps on the far left, with the tide coming in behind me. This waas taken on a different day.

I really like this shot...and I, too, feel like the wall on the left is a necessary element. I also appreciate the follow-up shot of the broader scene. It looks to be a place where you could spend a lot of time, getting quite a few intriguing pictures.
