Hummingbirds in Utah

I spent the last week in Utah visiting Zion and Bryce Canyon. It is beautiful there. I stayed at a B&B in Mt. Carmel, Utah and on the very first morning while I was eating breakfast there was a hummingbird feeder outside of the window in the breakfast room. The birds were very busy flying back and forth from the pine trees to the feeder. So I thought, what the heck, I've never tried to shood hummingbirds before so I gave it a try. I thought that I did fairly good for my first try. Please let me know what you think. I have more at http://www.prideinphotography.com/Nature/20120422-Humming-Birds-Utah

Very good results for your first try Keith. The first is a tad soft aand I would ahve tried to tone down the highlights a bit in the other images.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Although they are a bit soft, it's still a neat set.
A bit heavy on the colors though...

Thanks Harry, when I get a chance I'll see what I can do with the backgrounds. Right now I'm still going through all of the other pics from Zion and Bryce.

Thanks, maybe I will get a feeder for my backyard here in Florida and see if I can attract some here.

Thanks Harry, I got some nice shots but nothing fantanstic. I'm still working my way through them and will get some up later this week. I have some from Zion up on my site but didn't get them all because I lost my connection during the upload.

Nice results for a first attempt, the first time I tried to photograph hummies was an epic failure.
We only get the ruby-throated here in NY, nice to see others!

I'm not a hummingbird expert so I don't know what kind these are. The owners of the B&B said that they showed up about a week before I got there and that they migrate from Mexico.
