Air show lens

I have an airshow next month that I want to cover. I currently own a Nikon D7k with a 70-200 f/2.8 VR II lens for telephoto work and the 14-24mm f/2.8 wide coverage + 50mm and 35mm primes to cover the mid range.

I have rented a D3S + 300 f/2.8 lens to have an extra body and provide that ff look I like. Since this is the first time at an air show as a civilian, I can actually enjoy it and take some pictures. I was thinking of picking up a teleconverter but undecided between the TC-17E II or the TC-20E III?

The teleconverter I can use after I return the 300 lens and use it with my 70-200 for other work. I had searched and read articles of both the teleconverters but would like to hear from someone who has this kit the pros and cons of each.

Any help would be appreciated.

Mike

    Mike,

You might want to take a look at Manny Gonzalez's Thrust Images web site, he shoots air shows exclusively.

    Hope this helps.
