    Oh this is too good!
One of your better dog shots I think. Great conversion too.

I don't know but when I view that image I get flash backs of Anthony Hopkins in "Silence of the Lambs".

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

I was hoping that someone would say this for me, but as no one has:

This image, of a dog with a toy in his mouth in a park, is as good and example of what constitutes street photography as you are going to get here:

    1. It was shot in public

    2. It is unposed

    3. It does at least one of the following - It makes you happy, sad, glad, depressed, euphoric; it makes you laugh, cry, scream, mutter, curse. Which is to say, it stirs your emotions in some way

    4. It is at least somewhat ambiguous, allowing you to decide what it's about

    5. It evokes a WTF?!?!

    6. It includes, or is made up of, interesting compositional elements.

    7. It is presented as shot, but for some standard sharpness and contrast adjustment and perhaps some basic burning and dodging - and perhaps it has been converted to black and white.

Now not every street photo will have all these qualities - I believe this one does, but any worth posting will have one or more of them; otherwise the photo is just a snapshot taken in a public place.

Terrific image, BD. I love it.

You do realize that many people who are not members of this forum or students of yours are going to assume that it's Photoshopped. rolleyes1.gif

I keep coming back to this. Just great. Perfect even, and I'm not usually a fan of verticals. I could easily see this in a Magnum book.

And the paw prints on the pavement even! Damn. Really wish I'd taken this one.

Thanks, Seastack and everyone else. If one person confuses it with an Elliot Erwitt, I'll die happy.

With those tracks coming up behind him, Monster might have been an even more appropriate title. An image with a combination of all the right things to make it a truly wonderful shot. I'll certainly agree with seastack, and echo the greatest bit of flattery I've received: "Publication worthy." :)
