I was on the rooftop of a parking garage at Reagan National Airport. The closeup shots were when the Shuttle & 747 made their first pass southbound along the Potomac River. They were at about 1200' altitude, but the pilot was banking toward us so it creates the impression that my camera was level with him.

I was using a 300mm lens at the time.

I'm just catching up on the forum, and I'm glad I came across your post, Curt. These are great, I really like them. I (very) briefly considered coming down to DC to catch Discovery, but I settled for shooting Enterprise in NYC - it was quite an experience witnessing the flight. Thanks for sharing these!
