Hey you'll,

I'm back & I'm dead tired. Spending a few days with one's four grandchildren is a great way to have it driven home just how old you really are. I haven't had a chance to do any real shooting but they dragged me to Seaworld yesterday.

You will note I managed to get a couple of egrets in the shot despite the dude and his fish getting in the way,

the "highpoint" of the show is when they get the fish to splash the audience

Guess where my crew were sitting

they liked getting wet so much they did it again

I'm going to bed. i'll see you tomorrow.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Harry, harry, harry, someone managed to respond to my post, but I want YOU!

Tired???? Sorry! That is one way to know you are alive! And what about your knees? Mine are not what they used to be. And they make those seats so low, getting up is a real "pain".

I will bump my own post, will give it a few hours! Just so you can catch a few!

I love the shot of your crew, wet! And I also love the one of them on that ride. You caught them just right! However, why were you never with them in all that wet? You could be tired AND wet!

ginger (What? No food photos, how will Andy appreciate the family occasion you are sharing. I think "spot" the egret would be a good thread.)

    Hey Mike,

They "flew' pretty good for non-bird types. I pretty much hated Seaworld (the grandkids liked it though). It cost $64.00 to get in. rolleyes1.gif I just don't like these places that try to make wildlife look cute.

Orcas are mean SOBs and magnificent animals and they try to "Disneyfy" them. I'm surprised they didn't have them in costume.

We have an aquarium here in Charleston, just a few years old. Costs too much to get in, too. Then everyone, out of town people, are surprised that we don't have that stuff, in particular no dolphins, not a one.

The people complain and feel gypped (about 15.00 a piece) as all they see are fish. It was a moral issue not to use the dolphins or other attention grabbers.

I personally don't like the aquarium as I think it is boring. I should shoot the fish there sometime. Would probably be a good challenge entry, but I don't want to go there.

Disney, huh! I went right after it opened. Big family thing with my father paying. Right after that we went to the Bahamas where daddy had his boat in that Paradise Island Cove place. Then we went to an island or two before heading back to his place on Pompano Beach. I could not get over what Disney had done to make really fantastic nature look "cheap/cute/whatever". My kids love Disney, I dislike it intensely.

ginger (hope I didn't annoy too many Disney loving people. If so, moderator could move this post to wide angle)

Glad you are back, Harry, and glad you had that time with your family. Nice to see them all wet.............smile..........good photo there!:):

    Welcome back
Where did those egrets think they were going to find food at Seaworld? I see one of them posing in the background like a statue in several shots!

Glad the family dragged you along -- neat splashing water big fish shots. I can't believe how much these places charge these days even our Monterey Bay Aquarium is around $20 to get in. And then they don't even turn the lights on so I can take pictures!

Good to have you back. Yeah, when my 4.5 year old grandson comes to visit I feel old, I feel very very old, Laughing.gif and you have 3 big ones running around! Oh the trauma! Bet Linda was in her element though!

Thanks Ginger. Nothing is as easy as it used to be. I saw your thread and have commented on it already.

Since I was carrying a few thousand in camera gear I felt it was wise to avoid getting too wet. Next tiem I'm leaving the cameras home and going on a few rides.

    Hey Ric,

Jennifer is a drama queen. She wasn't feeling 100% so she would start putting on a puss whenever she remembered that she wasn't feeling well. It was funny because one minute she would be all smiles and then you could see the awareness come over her that she was supposed to be "sick" and then she would put on the puss. It was a constant struggle for her the whole day. :D

    Hey Dee,

There's a lot of fish being thrown around Seaworld and egrets are all over the place picking up whatever they can. They really like teh sea lion pool where folks throw fish to the sea lions. They probbaly get more fish than the sea lions.

We had a great and very tiring time. Linda loved spending time with Conner. Linda's my second wife & Conner's the first grandchild she's been's with at the beginning
