The best overall plugin / extension for Joomla or Wordpress

This forum has so many post about these topics but in everyone's opinion, which is the best plugin out here that supports the most features for Joomla?

Jsmug seemed to be the best for me so far, because of the ability to purchase the photo (by linking to the original). But my issue with that competent (besides it never being updated) is that you have to create a menu item in order for it to show. I just want to be able to insert it into an article or module.

Has anyone even tried to develop one?

    I would be also interested in embedding just one of my Smugmug images into my Joomla post(s). When clicking on the image, it would open the picture on my Smugmug site. Is this possible, Jeffa?
