Horst Faas was a double Pulitzer winner who won his awards the hard way, sticking his neck (and other body parts) into combat situations that were deadly risky to get pictures of the Vietnam war that became world-famous. He died yesterday. My hat's off to him and the rest of the photojournalists who covered that war in the jungles and the paddies. It was a bitch of a war and the work Horst did was magnificent. Check http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-505245_162-57432431/horst-faas-ap-combat-photographer-dies-at-79/ for the story.

Nice link. War correspondents deserve the highest praise and have some of the most memorable shots. I join you in saluting him!

Hi Qiincy, The thing that strikes me about guys like Horst is that unlike you and me they didn't HAVE to do that. But they did it anyway.
