Smugmug and google analytics

Ever since I removed my custom code and switched to the new way of using google analytics, I'm seeing almost no activity on analytics while statcounter is showing a strong up tick in activity.

Have I missed something here????

Hi Carson,

How long ago did you make the change between the custom GA code and the entry in your Control Panel?

Just curious, but if you change back to you see any improvement in the tracking Google Analytics shows?

I haven't seen other reports of GA not working when using the option in the Control Panel, but we'll be on the lookout.

I made the change a few days ago and haven't seen much if any activity since, while statcounter is showing a significant amount of hits.

What I did was remove my custom code and put the Google number, I forget at the moment what's it's called in the space in the control panel, I did verify that it's correct. Is there something else I need to as well?

If I get a chance, and can find it, I'll put the custom code back in the next day or two and see what happens.

From what I can remember when I was still using the custom code, Statcounter and Google Analytics always tracked/reported data in a different way and the numbers didn't match. I have been using the SmugMug Google Analytics feature for quite some time and haven't noticed any issues.
But to be honest, I don't consult stats very often anymore these days.

Google analytics did change thei code a while back. That may make a difference.
