D90/SB800 Problem

My SB800 appears to be dumping 100% flash each time before the shutter opens when shooting in TTL while mounted on the camera. I've reset both the flash and camera, been over the obvious setting in both and cant seem to find the problem. Not sure if its related but the modeling flash button causes a 100% flash as well instead of the multiple, lower power flashes like it used to do.

Any ideas on a setting I've got wrong or is this a mechanical problem with the flash?

Thanks
Jeff

Does the flash work properly off the camera and using the D90 as Commander?

Clean the contact on the flash and camera, is it the same lens that you used before or a new one. Some older lens dont send the distance info back to the flash, you mentioned you have film camera's are you using the old film len's.

Not film...camera is Nikon D90 using a 24-70 f2.8 lens. Have shot this configuration with success in the past. I have not tried commander mode/off camera...will give that a shot.

    Thanks
