Not sure what time you took this, or how dark it was, but I'd use curves to give it some punch!
Edit: I tried auto curves and it worked wonders!

In particular, this kind of picture is perfect for it. I tried the technique on your photo and it really brought it to life.
If you have not read this thread you should do so.
It has made a huge difference to my landscapes.

Here's my attempt at adjusting along with the work-flow.
I work with nik Color EFEX Pro and used a couple of the filters from it.
- Brilliance/Warmth (nik)
- Saturation (PS Master +15)
- Lighten/Darken Center (nik - lightened center and darken edges to lead the viewer into and down the path)
- Unsharp mask
Even though I used nik filters most can be done in PS by increasing the saturation about another +10 over the amount that I added in the work-flow. The burn tool could have been used to darken the sides to lead the viewer down the path.Photographs by Dixie
