Quick Share Buttons not appearing

Hi all,

I'm referring to this help article that says I should expect quick share links below my photos: http://help.smugmug.com/customer/portal/articles/93256-quick-share-on-facebook-and-twitter
You guessed it - I'm not seeing them? I have quick share enabled

The specific gallery I'm looking at is on our Sports team's photo site, here: http://photos.suanfc.com/Season-2012/Rd6-Div2-Blues-vs-Camden/

The 'be social' action works, but I'm looking for the Quick share to be there as that's what our young team members look for.

The strange thing is that I can see it on my personal site - though I'm not sure if I added that in site customisation. The photos.suanfc.com account only has advanced customisation for custom header, and GA code - so I can't see anywhere I've made this option inactive.

Any help?

Hi,

You have External Links turned off in the Gallery Settings, turn that back on and you'll be set

Thankyou, perhaps the help article needs to include that along with the other instructions - too many settings to guess. Seeing that I don't want unauthorised persons sharing to forums etc, looks like I'll need to go through and set customisation to hide the 'Get a link' menu item so I can use this.

Check out the "can I turn this off" section of the help page on quick sharing. The last paragraph mentions the gallery settings affecting the feature. Just use the opposite settings to enable it.

Ah, I see that now. Maybe for us blind bats, there could be a little check list for these things, something like:
"Not working? Make sure you have these settings: External linking...."etc
At least we have this friendly, helpful forum to..help us

I agree, if you're looking to turn the feature on in a gallery, it's easy to overlook that section. I've passed your feedback on to our Help team to see if we can improve on this. Thanks!
