Wonderful shot, David. The light and composition are spot on. New toy?

This is great. Great great great! This, to me, is less street and more artistic. Not because of any after-image funkadelicness, but because of its haunting nature. The contrast is so great surrounding them that this shot has an almost surreal quality to it. Obviously, there is an image of a small family just enjoying themselves on a ride at the park, but when I see it I get so much more than that.

I really have no personal nit picks with this. I even think the tree which barely made it into the exposure is appropriate for the overall feeling of the image. Maybe the rear part of the ride, where the ornate head-thing is, could be dodged a bit to make the light more even.

I agree with the above my only nit pick is the diagonal line exiting the corner of the frame , I would seriously consider cropping a tad off the top to eliminate that aspect. Wonderful shot !

Now this one is really terrific, David! MUCH better than the other mid-way shot.

Thanks, guys. This actually was the practice shot of a series. The exposure was so bad I thought it would be a tosser. As I was going through the other 15 images of the same, it was only the first "throw away" shot that had the right stuff. Weird how it often works out that way.

Superb shot with the lighting of the subjects, their sense of thrill, and the motion implied. So well done!

Love it and totally agree about how shots can surprise you once you're reviewing them.

When we walked by this same scene the next night (I was without a camera), my wife looked up at the contraption with kids riding it and mentioned "That would make a good picture." :D
