    Great shot Sam!

That's a great location to shoot around. I clicked off a few in that same cove in 2010. Slightly different angle and not nearly as nice as yours. :):

Very nice, Sam. The raw tools are so much better now, not to mention our skills get better as we grow. I should do this more often myself.

Boy, not much to criticise in that shot, Sam! I especially like how you selectively brought up the saturation in certain regions and color channels, which gives a real pop to the shot without making it look hypersaturated and fake. It takes experience and a subtle editorial hand to do this. The water in particular has a real richness to it, with the different swaths and patches of color, and intact details even in the highlights. Very well done!!

Indeed another fine image Sam thumb.gif

I'll probably get slammed for this, but I still believe the original 5D produced images with that intangible magic that for me, seemed lost to some degree with the 5D2.

I have never shot with a 5D, but I feel much the same way about my 5D2: it has a certain image quality and feel to it that no other camera has (or at least my 1D4 bodies don't have). I will take the 5D3 for a spin and see how it does, as I would love to have this IQ and IF (image feel) on a sports-compatible body. I do use my 5D2 for sports, but it's a pain.

And Sam, go out and get yourself another hat--you deserve it!

I never slam people for an honest opinion. I still have a qualm or two about selling the original 5D, but all said and done the 5d II have some definite advantages.
