I collected photos from other galleries to create a new gallery named slideshow.

I want this to be the gallery that shows on my homepage slideshow. I changed the slideshow settings on the homepage to point to this new gallery but the photos are not showing.

I know there must be something simple I am missing..

Thanks for your help.
Thanks, Claire

I have Adobe Flash 11 installed and updated my site to the new code.

Homepage slideshow works from home but not the office? Tried both Firefox and IE. Interesting that the icon doesn't show on any pages (upper left "Photography by Bruce")

The slideshow doesn't require Flash anymore when using the slideshow content block or viewing a slideshow within a gallery.
Check that you're using the latest version of Firefox. It may not work properly if you're on some older Firefox version.
Another thing to check into, would be add-ons or extensions you may have installed in your Firefox. Try disabling those to see if that helps.

The same also applies to Internet Explorer. We only support version 9 or higher.

In case it still doesn't work, the slideshow might be blocked at your work place. You might need to check on that with your IT department.

The issue was my background was set to black. Once deleted in the theme, problem solved!

I am also having a problem with my homepage slideshow. It works perfectly fine in customization mode, but when I log out to see what visitors will see, the slideshow just freezes on the splash image. The other images never play. Any suggestions?

Off topic but can't resist -
I LOVE that you have "reverse" shadows on all 4 borders of your slides.
imo if you can bear a comment: I think the 4 shadows should be equidistant. Right now the right and bottom extend further out than the top and left. If it were left to me rolleyes1.gifI would make the right and bottom, the same distance as the top and left.

I'm seeing the same thing that you describe when I go to your home page. Are the photos protected in any way? If the photos are in a private gallery they will only show when you are logged in.

Where are the photos pulled from? Galleries? Or based on a keyword? Or?

I made copies of various images from protected galleries and placed them in a new gallery that I called "photos". That gallery is unlisted, but not private. That's where I am pulling for the slideshow.

Unlisted should work. There isn't a password on the gallery, is there?

If you access that gallery when you are not logged in do you see the photos you expect?
Is SmugIslands turned on for the gallery? If it is that will prevent the photos from showing in the homepage slideshow.

I just made that gallery "public" and now the slideshow seems to be working. As long as I am not directing a link to that particular page, then visitors should not see that gallery anyway right?

If it's public your visitors can see it if they go to your /browse page.

It's a setting that can be set either site-wide or for a specific gallery.

This is from the legacy help page but the same settings are available in new smug:
Hello World and Hello Smuggers are SmugIsland settings. Use site-wide setting means this gallery will follow the site-wide Site Privacy settings in your Account Settings. No means this gallery will not be searchable to visitors or appear on Google, regardless of what your site-wide privacy settings are. Gotcha: Some features such as the homepage slideshow will not work if the source gallery is set with SmugIslands turned on.

I noticed that my setting was set to public and another view showed unlisted. After switching it a few times, both showed public.
