I started a thread for here in Documentary, but it quickly became so long that I put it in [thread=221134]Journeys[/thread].
I'm back here to post a trimmed down version for feedback.
I went to visit my son in Kyoto. I did a lot of walking. Here are some of my shots.

good stuff to take in at one time. #8, #10, and #13 particularly stand out to me.

Thanks, Tony. I'm glad to hear you like some of it. I've been pretty hard on myself about what I shot while there, which has left me unsure about what's good.

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind next time and slow down a bit in my posting.
#9 for me was about the 3 triangles.

But what I learned was just how many shots were stronger in black and white. There are a whole lot of shots for which color adds nothing, or detracts from the subject. Since I shoot mostly landscapes this hasn't often been the case. Sure, black and white landscapes are awesome, but the number of shots that are strengthened by a black and white conversion is much higher in street (in my experience), and this last batch of pics was a great lesson in that for me.

In number 4 I can hear them saying "not sure I like my face in that prop, should we try again?"
Like the elderly lady in number 6. I have been to Japan a number of times and often think of it as a youth oriented country, but it is necessarily so.
Because of excellent DOF in number 7 I can see a few stories in the one shot.
Number 8 could have been that too, but did come off that way.
Number 10 - looks like mix of color and B&W even those it is not. Like it.
